4G BlackBerry with Touchscreen & NFC Launch Date

Hang tight BlackBerry fans – the long wait for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is nearly over. The new BlackBerry has just been passed by the FCC for the T-Mobile 4G network which should mean it will be available on the carrier very soon.

First announced earlier in the year, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be the first with a touchscreen in the traditional BlackBerry phone shape – measuring 2.8 inches with a 480 x 640 resolution – and the first with 4G capabilities. If that’s not enough, it’ll also come equipped with NFC capabilities for making payments with your phone.

The Bold 9900 is also one of the first to come with the BlackBerry OS 7. Although neither T-Mobile or BlackBerry have confirmed a launch date it’s thought likely to be August. Cases and accessories for the Bold 9900 have already started to appear online.
