Blackberry Playbook Launches

The long-awaited first Blackberry tablet device has just hit the shelves.

The Blackberry Playbook went on sale today in stores and online. The tablet is new departure for the company both in terms of type of device and in terms of hardware which is more powerful than you might expect based on Blackberry phones.

The tablet features a super fast 1GHz dual-core processor with a full 1GB of RAM, dual-cameras – a five megapixel on the rear and a 3 megapixel front-facing camera – 1080p HD video playback with HDMI port, headset jack and microphone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and a vibrant 1024 x 600 resolution screen.

Unlike rival tablets like the 10 inch Motorola Xoom, the new Blackberry Playbook is a more portable 7 inch tablet.
