Not everyone likes the idea that most 4G phones are on the large side. In fact, quite a few people prefer smaller phones because they fit more easily in the pocket, bag or purse. Until now it’s been difficult to find a device that size that’s also powerful enough to run on the new 4G phone networks.

If you’re on Sprint you now have such a phone – the Samsung Conquer 4G. Priced at $99.99 with a two-year contract you get what Sprint calls an “entry-level 4G phone”. But don’t let that tag fool you, the Conquer comes with some pretty good specs including the current industry standard 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the latest Android 2.3 OS and 3.2 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 front-facing camera.

The main reason Samsung were able to make the Conquer 4G so compact was by giving it a 3.5 inch screen. If you’re used to the idea of a 4.3 inch screen phone that might seem a little too compact but for anyone moving up from an average 3G phone that’s going to be a welcome upgrade.

And let’s not forget that the smaller screen has another major advantage – battery life that those big 4.3 and 4.5 inch screen phones can only dream of.

The Samsung Conquer 4G is available now from Sprint and Amazon.
