Verizon 4G – Coverage In 178 Markets & 6 Phones

There’s great news for Verizon customers who’ve been waiting for 4G to come to town. Another huge batch of markets are about to be added to the Verizon 4G coverage map, which already covers half the population. The full list of new coverage areas is below. Some of these will be getting 4G from October 20th, the others from November 17th.

The latest round of coverage expansion will bring the total number coverage area 178, more than any other carrier. Some existing areas are also about to get increased coverage, including Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles and San Diego in California; Erie, Pennsylvania; Louisville, Kentucky; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Nashville, Tennessee.

Verizon now has six 4G phones to choose from, including a couple of award-winning, super-fast DROID Charge and DROID Bionic and the just released mid-range Pantech Breakout.

4G Markets Being Activated October 20th

Birmingham, Alabama; Modesto & Stockton, California; Fort Myers, Florida; Sioux City, Iowa; Bloomington, Evansville, Bedford, Mitchell, South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Elkhart, and Goshen, Terre Haute, Indiana; Albuquerque, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Buffalo, New York; Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia; Green Bay, Allouez, Ashwaubenon, Bellevue, De Pere, and Howard, Wisconsin.

4G Markets Being Activated November 17th

Little Rock, Arkansas; Savannah, Georgia; Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, Iowa; Lexington, Kentucky; Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; Orange County, New York; Greater Providence and Rapid City, South Dakota; Roanoke, Virginia; Appleton, Wisconsin.
